Sunlight, especially its blue spectrum (wavelength ~460-480 nm), hitting the retina stimulates the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the hypothalamus — the body's main "biological clock." This leads to suppression of melatonin (the sleep hormone) production during the day and, critically, to increased serotonin synthesis.

Interesting fact: The effect of sunlight is so significant that it is used in clinical practice. However, it is not a universal or unconditional stimulator. Its effect is optimized at moderate temperatures, with regular and measured exposure, combined with physical and social activity. Understanding these mechanisms allows not just to passively enjoy the sun, but to consciously integrate its rhythms into life as a scientifically grounded tool for maintaining high tone, mental health, and overall well-being. In an era when people voluntarily enclose themselves in artificial light environments, conscious "communication" with the sun becomes not a luxury, but an element of ecological hygiene and care for the quality of life forces.
